In the Vortex of Change

March 7, 2020 Super Full Moon in Libra at 9:35 PM CST

The Super Full Moon on Tuesday, March 7, 2020 will be very powerful, adding to the monumental energies we have already experienced this year. This will be the largest Super Full Moon of 2020, when the moon will be the closest to the earth of any full moon this year.

Two powerful planets, aggressive Mars paired up with serious and restrictive Saturn are both squaring unstable Uranus. Look for big explosive, restrictive and unexpected events. In addition, the Full Moon squares the very strong Jupiter Pluto conjunction. This lineup of heavy hitter planets together with the biggest Super Full Moon of the year results in big energy and big emotion!

Full Moons are about our emotions and around the world people are feeling anger, grief, despair, confusion, uncertainty and depression; some are hopeless and see no path forward out of their great loss. Thankfully we are now getting a few breaths of Aquarius energy which will lighten our experience, bring hope and more positivity.

The Full Moon in Libra calls for emotional balance, harmony and justice and is exactly opposite the Sun in warlike Aries. There is a push pull between the need to calm the emotions, represented by the Moon, and the desire for courageous action, represented by the Sun.

As mentioned earlier, this Full Moon squares the powerful Jupiter Pluto conjunction, releasing more energy for big and permanent change.

Jupiter and Pluto are conjunct three times this year at about the same location in Capricorn, most recently on April 4 and in the future on June 30 and November 12.  Pluto represents the power behind the power, and can result in often painful transformation, and the dredging up of secrets that must be brought out into the light of day.  Jupiter brings expansion and the desire for freedom and truth. Jupiter is the Great Benefic, ultimately providing protection against the ruthless but necessary transformation of the Great Malefic, Pluto.

Thankfully both Mars and Saturn are now in humanitarian Aquarius, making us think more about each other and what is best for all. There is a yearning for freedom and justice that comes with Aquarius as well as a desire to build and a vision for the future.

It is important to note that Mars, the Moon and Mercury often act as triggers for world events. With Mars square Uranus we could see aggression and rebellion, especially against any type of tyranny. Uranus always brings the unexpected and in Taurus can continue to shake up the earth as well as the financial world.

The Saturn Jupiter conjunction in January seems to have initiated this tsunami of big change we have been experiencing.  Saturn Jupiter conjunctions often herald the falling of kings, especially those that enslave others.

The United States’ Chart and the Super Moon

Using the Sibley Chart for the United States, July 4, 1776 at 5:10 PM in Philadelphia, PA and looking at the transits of the SuperMoon on April 7, there are some interesting aspects to consider:

  • Transiting Moon is square natal Sun (the President and the government)  and conjunct Natal Saturn (the elderly and conservatism) in Libra in the 10th house – signals that Feelings are high and the President and the elderly want truth, harmony and justice.
  • Transiting Mercury (communication and commerce) opposes natal Neptune (socialism and drugs, poisons) in Virgo in the 9th house (foreigners, legal system religious organizations) – communication about the pandemic and foreigners; the truth is obscured
  • Transiting Mars conjunct natal South Node in 2nd house & oppose natal North Node in 8th house– karma, something from the past must be released in order to move forward to lead from the heart, economy, social security and finances are being activated
  • Transiting Mars (Conflict, initiating energy) and Venus (arts, finances) are trine the Midheaven – positive energy for moving forward and finding peace and harmony
  • Transiting Saturn (elderly), Jupiter (Clergy, high courts) and Pluto (nuclear power, terrorism, upheaval of governments, powerful elite) oppose natal Mercury in 8th house of national debt, mortality rates, insurance and social security and conjunct natal Pluto (2nd house) – Issues around the elderly, involving the clergy and high courts and possible terrorist or power behind the power revelations. Secrets must come out. Economy should improve.
  • Transiting Uranus is over the 5th house of the stock market and square to North Node (karma) but positive aspects to Venus and Jupiter – stock market will be erratic all year, expect unruly events

Conclusion

It is true that our world is already vastly different than it was just a few months ago. The year has just begun and the changes have just started. We are experiencing the beginning of the Great Awakening with Uranus (ruling Aquarius) shaking things up and snapping us out of our trances. We may feel confused, lost or afraid of the unknown that lies ahead.  We are headed into a new way of being and we are now in the midst of the whirlwind of change.

It is important to pull up from the lower emotions and listen to the message of the Libra Full Moon. Find harmony, balance and center yourself during this transformative time. Just as the health care workers, truckers and others who are working hard to keep all of us going, you can do your part to help humanity by raising your consciousness through prayer, meditation and love. Walk in nature, appreciate your loved ones, listen to or create music. Participate in a group meditation or prayer chain – many are available online. Come out of fear into a place of harmony. As you do so, you raise the energy of the whole and provide a sense of calm and comfort for those who are suffering.

January 10, 2020 Powerhouse Lunar Eclipse

Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 20 Cancer with the Sun conjunct Mercury, Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn is supercharged. You can be sure that there will be tension especially between the polarities of life, personal versus professional life, for example. Strong emotions are often felt during the Lunar Eclipse and this one especially due to the conjunctions between the austere Saturn and often painfully transformative Pluto. You may experience sadness or turmoil due to these strong influences. Thank goodness positive aspects to the Sun, Moon and Mercury from Neptune brings some relief to the situation.

Sun conjunct Mercury makes for serious communication, especially regarding Capricorn topics such as control, government, foundations and responsibility.  Because the malefics Sun, Saturn and Pluto are all lined up together, this communication can be harsh, authoritarian and cold. The Moon, opposite these strong characters in emotional Cancer, stands alone and is vulnerable to attack. However, the Moon rules Cancer and is comfortable there. This is an opportunity to find safety. In mundane astrology, the Moon represents the people, society, the community. Human rights may be in danger during this time. But the positive aspects of spiritual Neptune bring compassion to the scenario.

Jupiter, Galactic Center and the Critical 29th Degree of Sagittarius

Jupiter is now at the intensely concentrated 29th degree of Sagittarius. Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter which brings expansion wherever it goes. Sagittarius is loud, the entertainer, the lawyer, loves foreign travel, accumulating higher knowledge and embarking on zealous spiritual quests. Now at this intense 29th degree, you may be feeling the power of Sagittarius, depending on where this lands in your chart.

Jupiter has been conjunct the Galactic Center (the center of the Milky Way Galaxy)  at 27 Sagittarius since November 19th, ushering in higher cosmic knowledge to us individually and to the world.

See where the Galactic Center resides in your natal chart at 27 Sagittarius to gain an understanding of how the current and upcoming important aspects will bring opportunities to you. The Sun, Mercury and Mars will all join the Galactic Center during the month of December.

Look back to 2006-2009 to get a sense of what began in your life as a result of the Pluto conjunction to the Galactic Center, then consider November 2017 when Saturn was at this important point to understand how this energy may be cycling in your life.

Shake-ups? Order from Chaos?

The New Moon on Sunday, October 27th portends shocking and unexpected shake-ups. It will be in Scorpio directly opposing Uranus.

Scorpio transforms people and situations by bringing up, sometimes painfully, all the hidden secrets and debris from the past, especially issues around sex, death and big power. Uranus is highly erratic and unpredictable and can shake things up in very unexpected ways. With Uranus in Taurus (earth), we could have some literal earth shaking events.

Expect chaotic and crazy behavior throughout society, from top leaders to family members and friends. Be aware of the tendency for aggressive response. This New Moon may intensify rebellions around the world. Unexpected and shocking news, changes and events may occur.

Look for ways to stay centered and peaceful. Take time for prayer and meditation. Maintain your balance and others will be positively affected. Remember that chaos happens right before we achieve a breakthrough, an epiphany and clarity.

The New Moon signals the end of one 28-day cycle and begins a new one. It occurs when the Sun is conjunct the Moon, energizing and invigorating the new start. The effects last about 4 weeks.

Mercury is retrograde in Scorpio from October 31 to November 20, so be prepared to reflect on what this heavy duty October has taught you. This is a strong intuitive time and you can use this slower reflective energy to meditate on the greater mysteries.

The Very Important Nodes of Destiny

Image by Stefan Keller from Pixabay

When the Nodes of the Moon move into a new sign in the sky, society, governments, businesses and each individual is impacted on the globe.

The energy of the time changes and we are called as a people to aspire to a new direction.

Nodes in Cancer and Capricorn

The Nodes moved into Cancer and Capricorn on November 6, 2018, calling us to move away from the rigid and controlling all business Capricorn way of being to a more heart centered and nurturing Cancer approach.

We should incorporate all the wisdom of Capricorn to effectively express the more humanitarian and loving Cancer energy in the world. This calls us to care for each other, all living things and the Earth as a loving mother would.

Exactly how the nodal position of the time affects each individual will depend on the location and aspects formed with the natal and progressed charts.

Your Unique Path

In the Natal chart, the Nodes of the Moon hold a tremendous amount of important information and guidance regarding your path in this life, your challenges and your talents. The Nodes are  calculated points reflecting when the path of the Moon crosses the Sun’s path as they travel in the heavens. They are always exactly opposite from one another. You could study just these points to discover incredible insights into your personal destiny.

South Node – Rahu – Head of the Dragon

The South Node represents what you have mastered in the past, what is comfortable and easy, as well as the challenges and gifts brought from previous lifetimes to help as you grow in a new direction. The house and sign of the South Node will show where you may fall back and coast, because it is sometimes scary to move in the new direction and after all, you already know how to do the South Node stuff, and you can do it well, so you may just do that and ignore the Soul’s yearning for the new adventure.

Because the South Node talents have been mastered in the past, Rahu can bring great achievement and success – often eventually resulting in loss, forcing you to move in the new direction you were meant to follow but were ignoring.

North Node – Ketu – Tail of the Dragon

The North Node represents your life’s goals, karmic path, the lessons you are here to learn and the new energy you are urged to express and master. Where Ketu resides will always be an area where you experience feelings of lack or disappointment. This feeling of disappointment is meant to encourage you to courageously take on the new way of being.

Push Pull of the Nodes

The Nodes do their work in your life by stirring up your ambitions and at the same time pulling you towards spiritual transformation. The Head of the Dragon provides the nourishment (talents, abilities, wisdom) gathered from past experiences that feeds the Tail of the Dragon as you move through your life. If you fail to go in the new direction, you will feel the dissatisfaction at a very deep level.

What is the Galactic Center?

The Galactic Center is the heart of the Milky Way, our home galaxy. Located about 27,000 light years from earth, the very slow moving Galactic Center (1 degree every 72 years)  is currently at 27 degrees Sagittarius. Our entire Solar System revolves around the Galactic Center, much like the Earth revolves around the Sun. It takes 250 million years for our Sun and solar system to revolve completely around the Galactic Center.

The Galactic Center is thought to be a super massive black hole and corresponds to the astronomical radio source of Sagittarius A.

Why is this Important?

Jupiter, the Great Benefic, joins the Galactic Center on November 19, 2019 and will continue to aspect this point through the end of November, bringing in expansion,  justice, abundance and awakening to higher knowledge and consciousness.

Other planets will follow Jupiter to aspect the Galactic Center including Venus (November 23) bringing in love energy, the Sun (December 19) making this a personal experience, Mercury (December 27) affecting how we think, and Mars (February 13, 2020) adding great energy to the mix.

This will be a time of great awakening for many and if you have a planet within 5 degrees of this point, you will feel this more intensely.

Cycle of Learning

Jupiter returns to the Galactic Center every 12 years and brings with it the opportunity for expanded awareness of your Soul’s purpose. This is now an unusual return since Pluto (the Great Transformer) was at the Galactic Center in 2006/2007, bringing big and often tumultuous change.  Saturn (the Great Taskmaster) reached the Galactic Center in late 2017, bringing lessons, responsibility and sometimes painful learning. Think back to 2006-2007 and what was happening in your world at that time to gain an understanding of the cycle. Has your awareness grown and your insight changed over the past twelve years?

If you have planets that will be aspected, consider the house and energies involved for a deeper understanding of how this may impact you.

Pluto Retrograde April 24 to October 3, 2019 – Purify & Let Go!

Image by Gerd Altmann from Pixabay

Pluto is retrograde five months every year and is currently retrograde in Capricorn until October 3., 2019. Conjunct Saturn, this brings a level of seriousness to this transformative energy.

Pluto is the Big Destroyer and is all about power and control. Pluto represents destruction that purifies and clears the way for positive regeneration.

Consider how power, control, prejudice, obsession and manipulation impact your life.

Do you try to control others? Are you biased or prejudiced? Do you suffer from obsession or addictive behaviors that hold you back from your spiritual growth?

You may notice themes in your life that bring this to your awareness.

Remember we are being called to be more nurturing and compassionate at this time (North Node in Cancer). This is the time to let controlling and obsessive behaviors go!

How does Astrology Work?

Image by Craig Melville from Pixabay

We are not really sure, and this has been debated by great minds including Carl Jung, who introduced it into his psychological counseling practice.

Astrology has been studied for thousands of years and it has been an integral part of cultures worldwide. Astrology is considered the most ancient science, the mother of astronomy, physics and mathematics.

Ancient Clock

Image by Stefan Keller from Pixabay

Some suggest that the constellations act like an ancient clock which can be used to mark the passage of linear time as well as explain non-linear, complex and subtle relationships, synchronicities and interpretations. According to Roman Yaworsky, it is “the most sophisticated quantum computer device ever imagined.”

The heavens reveal the cycles of time and our place in the drama of life. Your birth chart provides a blueprint or guide for your life path. It is important to understand that your free will choices determine how this energy will be expressed. How you build your life is up to you. Much like the North Star provides a point of reference for travelers on their journey, astrology provides a guide – shining a light on the events that unfold in our lives.

The fact that it has persisted through the ages shows that there must be something to it, or it would have been lost and abandoned long ago.  Those of us who study it are always amazed at the accuracy of detail that can be known if the observer is paying attention.

Alejandro Luna has stated that “astrology cannot be explained on the basis of the material level of reality. Astrology basically involves higher levels of reality related to symbols, language, emotions, psychology, the soul and the spirit.”

Quantum Universe

In the quantum universe, everything is connected through an invisible web of complex energetic frequencies. At the core of everything is vibration and frequency. We know that our material world appears to be solid but is in fact just atoms vibrating at different rates with a whole lot of empty space in between the parts. Everything is interconnected, along with the consciousness of the observer, which ultimately determines what is seen and experienced. We all contribute and are part of the whole, forming an energy soup that makes up the universe.

How does a mother know when her child is in trouble? There is a connection between the essence of that mother and her child that immediately crosses any physical distance or boundary. Is this how astrology works – through an invisible energetic connection that provides subtle influences in experience?

Someday, when we completely understand the intricacies of how life moves through the cosmos, we will be able to explain this amazing ancient timekeeping guide that the Divine placed in the Heavens for us.

2020 – Reformation Repeat or Global Reboot?

Image by Gerd Altmann from Pixabay

Astrologers worldwide are anticipating the transformational energy of the unusual line-up of planetary energies in January 2020.  At that time, Mercury, Saturn, Jupiter and Pluto will all be in Capricorn.

Solar Eclipse on December 26

The very fortuitous New Moon Solar Eclipse on December 26 at 4 degrees Capricorn, is positively aspected to lucky Jupiter and innovative Uranus, bringing the opportunities for expansion and new and unusual experiences. This is a time for growth and success with an emphasis on personal freedom.  The effects of this eclipse will be felt for about 6 months, providing positive and happy energy to help us through the anticipated big changes to come.

Saturn Conjunct Pluto Plus Jupiter

Saturn and Pluto have been in Capricorn for some time now but will form a powerful conjunction beginning January 12, 2020 which will continue throughout 2020. In addition, Jupiter joins this conjunction for most of the year, adding power and expansion to this already very intense connection.

Image by Andreas Breitling from Pixabay

The last time Pluto and Saturn were conjunct in Capricorn was in January 1518, 2 months after Martin Luther (with 5 planets in transforming Scorpio) nailed his 95 theses to the church door in Wittenberg, challenging the power of the Catholic Church, launching the Great Reformation and the protestant revolution.

Saturn

Saturn is the lesson bringer and the builder. It rules structure, foundation, integrity, responsibility and government —how we govern ourselves and each other. Saturn teaches patience as it represents old age, the slow passage of time and the wisdom that comes with life experience. When Saturn is in Capricorn expect to reap the rewards of past actions, for good or bad.

Pluto

Pluto is the great destroyer and brings about powerful and often painful transformation. Pluto will dredge up the dross to expose it to the cleansing light of day. With Pluto in Capricorn since November 2008, it has certainly brought many scandals to light. Expect more of this to be exposed as this cleansing is necessary to release the old and welcome the new paradigm that is emerging.

Saturn Pluto Cycles

When Saturn and Pluto come together this can result in either greater empowerment of the status quo or revolutionary change and a dissolution of power.  They make hard angles every 8 ¼ years, are in opposition every 16 ½ years and are conjunct every 33 years. These hard angles result in upheavals and often uncomfortable change.  Some world events that coincide with this cycle include World War I in 1914, the Vietnam War in 1965 and the 9/11 World Trade Center tragedy in 2001.

North and South Nodes – Karmic Cycles

Major karmic events, both global and personal, revolve around the position of the North and South Nodes. In November 2018, the North Node moved into Cancer and the South Node in Capricorn. The Nodes have a cycle of 18 ½ years, so at the halfway point and quarter points, hard aspects are formed bringing about change.

The North Node represents what we should move towards in our evolution and in the natal chart, it represents your life’s path. The South Node indicates what has been mastered in the past and the talents that are available to support the North Node transformation. However, because the North Node energies are new and unknown, we may be tempted to fall back on the tried and true and miss our opportunity for growth.

With the North Node in Cancer at this time, the world is being called to focus on humanity and operate from the heart rather than the head.  We are urged to nurture the people (Cancer and the Moon North Node) rather than the command and control all-business approach of the Capricorn South Node. The best expression of the North Node would be to harness the administrative talents of Capricorn to help others.

Ride the Wave of Change

With this explosive gathering of energies, expect change!

Uranus in Taurus until 2025 brings a  desire for personal freedom. Innovations and new inventions and breakthroughs related to health, diet, finances and fashion can be expected. Taurus rules the earth, so  expect more earth changes, storms and migrations of people out of areas of famine. This is a time of understanding what you value in belongings and personal relationships.

People, institutions and governments that serve with flexibility and humanity should thrive whereas those that are rigid and unbending will be dramatically changed.

Get ready to ride this wave of change into 2020 and beyond! Stay centered, work from your heart and treat others with compassion. This is an exciting time to be alive as we say goodbye to the old and welcome the new.

“Pluto’s journey through Capricorn until 2024 will ultimately restructure the foundations upon which we’ve to build our culture, including the economy itself.” –Rick Levine

Uranus in Taurus 2018-2025 – Shaking it Up!

Image by Gerd Altmann from Pixabay

Uranus entered Taurus in 2018 and will stay there for seven years until 2025 – shaking things up worldwide around all that Uranus and Taurus rule.

Freedom, change, sudden insights, inventions, eccentricity, socialism, technology, anarchy, borders, earthquakes and volcanoes are some of the things ruled by Uranus.

Taurus is concerned with the earth itself, the arts, singing, fashion, diet, cattle, Russia, the treasury and wealth, among other things.

We see evidence of this energy playing out on the world stage with the increased discussion of socialism, borders and anarchist violent groups. At the same time, people are demonstrating for increased freedom (Hong Kong). Expect this dichotomy to continue.

On a positive note, we should see more breakthroughs related to technology and health – perhaps there will be a wonderful cure or new treatment technique that works.  At the same time, our financial world will be changing and fluctuating along with the earth itself.

This is certainly an interesting time to be alive! To see where this might impact your life, contact me for your astrological analysis.
