More energy for big change today. This is the second of three exact conjunctions of Jupiter and Pluto in 2020 (April 4, June 30 and November 12). This is a major alignment that happens every thirteen years and it is over the second house of the United States, echoing the notable lineup of planets in Capricorn in January which launched this year of great unrest where everything seems in upheaval.

Pluto moves very slowly, so will hover in this area for a long time, dredging up issues that need to be changed both in society and at a personal level. Jupiter brings expansion, for good or bad, but is known as the Great Benefic, usually associated with blessings and protection. This conjunction is in Capricorn, so the focus is on responsibility, maturity and the aged as well as the foundational structures of society. Over the second house of the United States, this conjunction continues the year-long emphasis on values, security and the financial system of the country.

Difficult aspects to other planets and points tells me that there is more upheaval and unrest in our future. Jupiter represents justice and taking the higher road whereas Pluto can be brutal in its quest for power. It is important to act ethically and with integrity now as ruthless or violent behavior will invite retribution.

How does this affect you personally? Look at your natal chart to see what house contains 24 Capricorn. The area of life governed by this house will be the focus.

Hysteria in the Homeland

June 5 , 2020 Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius 15:42 at 2:24:55 PM CST

Image by Iván Tamás from Pixabay

This is an angry Full Moon. The emotional Moon represents the people in mundane astrology and everyone is fired up and feeling the intensity.

We are living through a period of time that repeats the energy of the Fall of Rome, the Reformation, the Revolutionary War and the Civil War.

This year we have experienced unbelievable upheaval in our country. COVID-19, sheltering at home, masks, loss of jobs, businesses closed, murder hornets, people arrested for trying to earn money followed by a senseless murder that shocked the world. Peaceful protests were hijacked  by well-organized and obviously orchestrated multi-city anarchist riots, looting and the murder of many innocents. All of this is fomenting anger, fear, suffering and grief.

How can it get worse?

This is a particularly dangerous Full Moon because of Mars. During this eclipse, the Moon makes a difficult square to the warrior planet. In addition, the Full Moon is opposite Venus retrograde which is not good for those in strained relationships, nor for the United States, as it opposes the country’s Ascendant. In addition, the Sun is conjunct Mars and squares Neptune, signaling continued violence and confusion.

Lunar Eclipses bring the push pull between opposing energies represented by the Sun which is opposite the Moon in the sky. This can be the push pull between work and home, man and woman and in mundane astrology, the government and the people.

And to top it off, Neptune continues its slow passage through Pisces. It is traveling over the 3rd house of the United States, which represents communication and the media.

Neptune brings delusion, confusion and lies and can also bring inspiration and spiritual connection. But it is hard to see the more positive aspects now as Neptune is in the nasty third decan of its travels through Pisces which just happens to be ruled by warrior Mars. Look for more lies and deception and more delusion and violent behavior from the public.

Neptune rules poisons, gas and water, and suicides, among other things, so it is possible that we will be dealing with flooding and many more of these challenges now and until it leaves Pisces at the end of March 2025. Tropical storm Cristobal is forming now in the Gulf of Mexico and is expected to make landfall on June 5, just in time for the eclipse.

Transiting Uranus is shaking things up for the country as it makes a difficult square to the United States’ Nodes. This has karmic ramifications.

Powerful upheavals continue due to the rare conjunction of three of the solar system’s most powerful planets, Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn. This very long term conjunction brings major changes in the structures our society is built on and we are witnessing the fracturing of our foundations now. This is turning our financial world upside down as the conjunction is over the 2nd house of money for the United States. The Transiting Nodes are square the Midheaven of the United States, indicating difficult karmic events.

Right now Pluto, Jupiter, Saturn and Venus are all retrograde slowing down and intensifying the power for change and making it more internal and individualized.

We have an ominous Solar Eclipse on June 21 followed by Mars entering Aries on June 27 where it will remain an unusually long time until January 7, 2021. During this time it will travel over the 4th house of the United States which represents the homeland, indicating terroristic and aggressive acts in our country.

There’s more of this to come I am afraid.

The Death of George Floyd

On the evening of Monday, May 25, 2020, George Floyd, an African American man, appeared to be brutally  murdered by a police officer in a horrific videotaped event in Minneapolis Minnesota. Cities were on fire as the public erupted in outrage. Although there were other facts that eventually became known and muddied the water on what really happened, this event lit a fuse and provided a reason for some to become violent.

What does this mean for the United States? We can gain some insight by looking at the chart of the United States for that day.

Violence – Mars (rules the police) in deluded Pisces was square Uranus – bringing sudden violent events as well as riots. The square to the Ascendant reflects the shock and revulsion that people felt as they watched the video of this horrific event.. The racial aspect of this event is mirrored in the multiple aspects to Natal Neptune in the 9th house.

Obfuscation – Neptune can obscure the truth and it is interesting that video (also ruled by Neptune) was the instrument through which this fuse was lit. Neptune was is in the dreaded last ten degrees of Pisces, when terrible things can happen.

Karma – The Nodes of the Moon bring karmic events to the world as well as to individuals. On that day, many difficult aspects were in play. The transiting South Node (calamity) was in the first house of the people. The Nodes, which are always exactly opposite one another, were conjunct/opposing Natal Venus (values).

Could it be that this terrible event will somehow transform us?

Outrage – Fanning the flames of the intense human reaction to this horrific event is transiting Neptune. Difficult aspects to Mars and Natal Neptune add to the emotional fervor and outrage.

The People – The people are angry and their response is fiery and powerful now as evidenced by the transiting Moon conjunct Natal Sun. We are seeing this in the fiery words and literal burning of cities.

Government – Transiting Sun conjunct Natal Uranus brings sudden out of the blue and shocking, powerful events that illuminate something important. This death that has caused such turmoil for individuals as well as government shows up in the Transiting Sun (government) square the Moon (people).

Tyranny –  This powerful and truly evil incident is teaching us important lessons, if we can just hear the message. Saturn brings difficult lessons and also represents tyranny and government control. It opposes Mercury, which represents how we thing, our ideas and our prejudices. It is conjunct Pluto, that is a symbol for evil and powerful change. The connection to the karmic North Node shows that this event will have great repercussions.

MediaThe media has been playing this shocking video almost non-stop, it is too painful to watch, yet it is on every platform, forcing us to look . This is reflected in the aspects created by transiting Mercury which conjoin Venus (our values).

Powerful Change – Pluto brings big transformation. Pluto is making connections to change our thinking and increase our compassion. Transiting Pluto is conjunct Pluto, making this a doubly powerful event with the ultimate promise of regeneration at some future point.

Could it be that we are forced to see this so we will embrace compassion for one another?

October 2019 – It’s Intense!

Are you feeling the intensity in the air? Do people seem out of control and irrational? Are tempers flaring and has patience gone out the window?

You can blame Pluto and Scorpio which are involved in the sometimes painful transformation we are all experiencing.  On a positive note, Scorpio brings focus and the ability to work relentlessly to achieve a goal. Something you can take advantage of this month. However, be aware that Scorpio can also be obsessive and treacherous.

Pluto is about big power. It rules the powerful often hidden puppet masters of the world. It also rules, among many other things, sexuality, transformation, investigation, television, radioactivity, regeneration, treason, terrorism and revolution.

This month, Mars in Libra squares the Nodes of the Moon (October 21, 2019), making this a time when we might feel more aggressive and explosive. Libra emphasizes justice and legal activities. Expect to continue to hear revelations of hidden criminality as this transformative energy unfolds.

Let go of fear, remember that Pluto brings necessary change to clear the way for positive new growth.

A Call for Compassion

The world’s North Node in Cancer is calling humanity to be more loving and compassionate, to nurture rather than control and to operate from the heart. The South Node in Capricorn reminds us we must take responsibility for our actions and operate from a solid foundation.

We are now leaving the old controlling and domineering ways of the past behind. This is a global call to all who live on this earth, to evolve into a more heart centered way of being.

Talk about Intense – Full Moon on October 13, 2019!

Image by beate bachmann from Pixabay

The Moon is almost full as I write this on October 10, 2019 and it is beautiful in the night sky. It will be officially full this coming Sunday, October 13 at 20 Aries and brings with it an array of challenging aspects.

The fiery Get it Started strength of Aries makes this a good time to set and act on your intentions. However, there are challenging aspects to consider.

The Sun in legal and fair-minded Libra squares Pluto (the great revealer) in Capricorn (control, integrity, politics), brings turmoil. Hidden and possible criminal information can become known at this time. Pluto brings destruction, purging and release in order to pave the way for new and positive transformation. Pluto rules big power and the struggles between the people and governments.

Full Moon square Pluto can bring up emotional power struggles, compulsive behavior, fears and violence. Venus in Scorpio is opposite Uranus in Taurus, shaking things up and bringing emphasis to Pluto’s actions and what we value.

Jupiter square Neptune causes us to be easily misled, either by others or by our own delusional thinking.  Challenging squares to Saturn can result in delays and emphasizes taking care of responsibilities.

All is not lost as positive aspects to beneficial Jupiter soften the impact of this tumultuous energy.

At the Full Moon, the Sun and Moon are in exact opposition, exactly 180 apart. This brings matters ruled by the Moon to the forefront while creating tension between those governed by both of these great lights. Matters ruled by the Sun (power, work, ego, action) are in tension to those ruled by the Moon (nurturing, home, intuition, emotion).

The effect of a Full Moon lasts about two weeks and intuition and emotions are high. This particular Full Moon brings opportunities to heal relationships.

What is the Galactic Center?

The Galactic Center is the heart of the Milky Way, our home galaxy. Located about 27,000 light years from earth, the very slow moving Galactic Center (1 degree every 72 years)  is currently at 27 degrees Sagittarius. Our entire Solar System revolves around the Galactic Center, much like the Earth revolves around the Sun. It takes 250 million years for our Sun and solar system to revolve completely around the Galactic Center.

The Galactic Center is thought to be a super massive black hole and corresponds to the astronomical radio source of Sagittarius A.

Why is this Important?

Jupiter, the Great Benefic, joins the Galactic Center on November 19, 2019 and will continue to aspect this point through the end of November, bringing in expansion,  justice, abundance and awakening to higher knowledge and consciousness.

Other planets will follow Jupiter to aspect the Galactic Center including Venus (November 23) bringing in love energy, the Sun (December 19) making this a personal experience, Mercury (December 27) affecting how we think, and Mars (February 13, 2020) adding great energy to the mix.

This will be a time of great awakening for many and if you have a planet within 5 degrees of this point, you will feel this more intensely.

Cycle of Learning

Jupiter returns to the Galactic Center every 12 years and brings with it the opportunity for expanded awareness of your Soul’s purpose. This is now an unusual return since Pluto (the Great Transformer) was at the Galactic Center in 2006/2007, bringing big and often tumultuous change.  Saturn (the Great Taskmaster) reached the Galactic Center in late 2017, bringing lessons, responsibility and sometimes painful learning. Think back to 2006-2007 and what was happening in your world at that time to gain an understanding of the cycle. Has your awareness grown and your insight changed over the past twelve years?

If you have planets that will be aspected, consider the house and energies involved for a deeper understanding of how this may impact you.

Pluto Retrograde April 24 to October 3, 2019 – Purify & Let Go!

Image by Gerd Altmann from Pixabay

Pluto is retrograde five months every year and is currently retrograde in Capricorn until October 3., 2019. Conjunct Saturn, this brings a level of seriousness to this transformative energy.

Pluto is the Big Destroyer and is all about power and control. Pluto represents destruction that purifies and clears the way for positive regeneration.

Consider how power, control, prejudice, obsession and manipulation impact your life.

Do you try to control others? Are you biased or prejudiced? Do you suffer from obsession or addictive behaviors that hold you back from your spiritual growth?

You may notice themes in your life that bring this to your awareness.

Remember we are being called to be more nurturing and compassionate at this time (North Node in Cancer). This is the time to let controlling and obsessive behaviors go!

2020 – Reformation Repeat or Global Reboot?

Image by Gerd Altmann from Pixabay

Astrologers worldwide are anticipating the transformational energy of the unusual line-up of planetary energies in January 2020.  At that time, Mercury, Saturn, Jupiter and Pluto will all be in Capricorn.

Solar Eclipse on December 26

The very fortuitous New Moon Solar Eclipse on December 26 at 4 degrees Capricorn, is positively aspected to lucky Jupiter and innovative Uranus, bringing the opportunities for expansion and new and unusual experiences. This is a time for growth and success with an emphasis on personal freedom.  The effects of this eclipse will be felt for about 6 months, providing positive and happy energy to help us through the anticipated big changes to come.

Saturn Conjunct Pluto Plus Jupiter

Saturn and Pluto have been in Capricorn for some time now but will form a powerful conjunction beginning January 12, 2020 which will continue throughout 2020. In addition, Jupiter joins this conjunction for most of the year, adding power and expansion to this already very intense connection.

Image by Andreas Breitling from Pixabay

The last time Pluto and Saturn were conjunct in Capricorn was in January 1518, 2 months after Martin Luther (with 5 planets in transforming Scorpio) nailed his 95 theses to the church door in Wittenberg, challenging the power of the Catholic Church, launching the Great Reformation and the protestant revolution.

Saturn

Saturn is the lesson bringer and the builder. It rules structure, foundation, integrity, responsibility and government —how we govern ourselves and each other. Saturn teaches patience as it represents old age, the slow passage of time and the wisdom that comes with life experience. When Saturn is in Capricorn expect to reap the rewards of past actions, for good or bad.

Pluto

Pluto is the great destroyer and brings about powerful and often painful transformation. Pluto will dredge up the dross to expose it to the cleansing light of day. With Pluto in Capricorn since November 2008, it has certainly brought many scandals to light. Expect more of this to be exposed as this cleansing is necessary to release the old and welcome the new paradigm that is emerging.

Saturn Pluto Cycles

When Saturn and Pluto come together this can result in either greater empowerment of the status quo or revolutionary change and a dissolution of power.  They make hard angles every 8 ¼ years, are in opposition every 16 ½ years and are conjunct every 33 years. These hard angles result in upheavals and often uncomfortable change.  Some world events that coincide with this cycle include World War I in 1914, the Vietnam War in 1965 and the 9/11 World Trade Center tragedy in 2001.

North and South Nodes – Karmic Cycles

Major karmic events, both global and personal, revolve around the position of the North and South Nodes. In November 2018, the North Node moved into Cancer and the South Node in Capricorn. The Nodes have a cycle of 18 ½ years, so at the halfway point and quarter points, hard aspects are formed bringing about change.

The North Node represents what we should move towards in our evolution and in the natal chart, it represents your life’s path. The South Node indicates what has been mastered in the past and the talents that are available to support the North Node transformation. However, because the North Node energies are new and unknown, we may be tempted to fall back on the tried and true and miss our opportunity for growth.

With the North Node in Cancer at this time, the world is being called to focus on humanity and operate from the heart rather than the head.  We are urged to nurture the people (Cancer and the Moon North Node) rather than the command and control all-business approach of the Capricorn South Node. The best expression of the North Node would be to harness the administrative talents of Capricorn to help others.

Ride the Wave of Change

With this explosive gathering of energies, expect change!

Uranus in Taurus until 2025 brings a  desire for personal freedom. Innovations and new inventions and breakthroughs related to health, diet, finances and fashion can be expected. Taurus rules the earth, so  expect more earth changes, storms and migrations of people out of areas of famine. This is a time of understanding what you value in belongings and personal relationships.

People, institutions and governments that serve with flexibility and humanity should thrive whereas those that are rigid and unbending will be dramatically changed.

Get ready to ride this wave of change into 2020 and beyond! Stay centered, work from your heart and treat others with compassion. This is an exciting time to be alive as we say goodbye to the old and welcome the new.

“Pluto’s journey through Capricorn until 2024 will ultimately restructure the foundations upon which we’ve to build our culture, including the economy itself.” –Rick Levine
